Skills That Will Pay You Forever
12 SKILLS THAT WILL PAY YOU FOREVER>3
In our modern era, we are well aware of the fact that skills are far more important than degrees. We need to invest our time in learning the skills that can become a source of income for us. With mindful practice, you can become a natural pro at these skills. You need to master these skills to get money for a lifetime. Though the purpose of these skills is not just to earn money but to live a better life. These skills are going to help you in every area of your life. Here are some skills:
1. Ability to sell and negotiate:
In my opinion, being capable of convincing another person to buy a product is the most powerful skill a person can have. The ability to sell and negotiate means you have the skills to convince someone to be interested in the thing or service you trying to sell or provide. If you can negotiate you can probably make your way out to anything you desire as you can achieve I with your skills. A person may not at all be interested in your product but your words are so impactful, and you can display your product in such an attractive way through your words or action that the other party can't resist but be subconsciously thinking about your product. factors that play an important role in negotiation are:
- communication
- emotional intelligence
- planning
- value creation
You should be reading to understand. For example, if you read this blog and do not understand and memorize the points discussed in it then you are just passing by you are not gaining anything from reading it. The skill of reading and understanding is vital and comes with practice. You need to be mindful while reading a text. for example, if you read something in English, try to translate that into your native language in your mind, make sure you understand each and every word of what you are reading, and memorize it you can repeat it a few times or the best way is to take notes. Anything you note down with your hands gets engraved in your brain. You will not gain anything from thousands of books, articles, or blogs if your brain is not picking up the points discussed in the texts you are reading. I will give an example of a very impactful book ATOMIC HABITS. Honestly, I believe after reading that boos there is no way that you have some sort of bad habit, or you are not the most organized person in the world. That book has the potential to change the way you think. But you are not going to gain anything from that book if you are not trying your best to understand it. That book will have zero percent impact on your life if you didn't make notes from it. Knowledge is power don't ever underestimate it. Read, understand, and memorize you can practice this and after some time you won't even have to try.
3. ABILITY TO KEEP TRYING AFTER FAILURE:
Failure is part of life, and you cannot grow if you are not able to handle the failure. Being able to handle the weight of failure and stand back up even stronger is the way to prolonged success. To achieve greater things in life you need to keep trying irrespective of all the failures or hurdles that are stopping you from achieving what you have dreamt of. Having bigger dreams always comes with the great risk of failure but a person who is actually willing to succeed while taking this risk is well aware of the chances of failing. The reward you receive after trying and not giving up is enough to forget about your failures. The most common example is of people who become chartered accountants. The jobs and respect they get are unmatchable, but they get them after failing a lot of times. we think people will laugh at us when we fail and that fear stops us from getting what we truly desire, yet those same people will ask you for favors when you succeed. Don't ever stop trying because of the thought that people will say. And if you are not affected by that but it's your own brain that convinces you to stop trying then try o list down to pros and cons of trying one more time. trust me the pros will always outweigh the cons. Don't, stop trying until you achieve what you dreamt of or what you truly desire. Because you will regret it as long you are alive, the thought that I should have tried one more tie will literally eat you up.
4. ABILITY TO MANAGE TIME AND REMAIN CONSISTENT:
Time management is extremely important and that goes without saying that you should make every second worth spending. Don't, waste your time unless you have everything you ever dreamt of. when you are in your struggling phase you can't afford to waste a minute. In the beginning, you will not be able to manage time effectively so you can start making it a habit by making a list of things you have to do daily and dividing periods among your activities that way your brain will slowly and automatically adapt to performing activities within a particular time. This will help in all areas of life whether it is your relationships, work, or education assigning a particular time to each and help you manage everything pretty efficiently.
As the saying goes consistency is key to success, it is unfortunately true. To become going at something you have to be consistent in working towards it on and off won't work. If you are a student studying daily don't push forward your studies thinking I will do it at the time of exams, you will not be able to do it you will just end up disappointed and thinking that next time I will stay consistent so why not this time. This is a very small example, building a skill of consistency is going to pay you forever.
- Some other skills include staying positive: try to stay positive don't think negatively about yourself or the situation you are in and believe in the fact that you can change your reality and you are going to do it. Even if I am not at my best right now I will change that with my hard work and become the person that I dream about.
- walking away: you should be capable of walking away from toxic relations or unpleasant situations. Be strong headed you don't need to stand there and allow people to make you feel bad about yourself just because you don't want to be alone, or you don't want to miss out on an opportunity. If you are not able to put yourself first and walk away from people who don't respect, you then you can't expect anyone to respect you ever.
